Featured Article : Tapping natures rhythm: the role of season in mitochondrial function and genetics in the UK biobank

In this newly published article, the authors discuss how the variation of mtDNA abundance is influenced by environmental, lifestyle and immune parameters. They propose that differences in the seasonal oscillation of mitochondrial abundance could potentially explain discrepancies of previous associations results and might be useful to improve future risk prediction.

Human Genomics is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that focuses on the application of genomic analysis in all aspects of human health and disease, as well as genomic analysis of drug efficacy and safety, and comparative genomics.
